Solid glass

Creating solid glass items involves a different process compared to hollow glass items. Here’s an overview of the typical procedure for making solid glass objects, which can be used in various applications including fashion jewelry:

1. Glass Bar Acquisition and Color Selection:

  • We procure glass bars from suppliers where the color is predetermined and cannot be customized according to individual customer requests.
  • To accommodate customer preferences, we offer a selection of glass boards displaying various colors for customers to choose from.
  • This approach ensures that while the base glass color is fixed, customers have the opportunity to select the desired hue from available options during the design process.

2. Shaping and Forming:

Once the molten glass is ready, it can be shaped and formed using various techniques:

  • Blowing: For smaller objects or intricate shapes, molten glass can be blown into molds or directly manipulated using tools.
  • Pressing: Molten glass can be pressed into molds to create uniform shapes or patterns.
  • Casting: Involves pouring molten glass into a mold to achieve specific designs or thicknesses.

3.Annealing:

After shaping, the glass undergoes an annealing process:

  • The glass is slowly cooled in an annealing oven or lehr to relieve internal stresses and strengthen its structure.

This gradual cooling process prevents cracking or shattering due to thermal stress.

4. Finishing:

Once cooled and annealed, the solid glass object undergoes finishing processes:

  • Cutting and Polishing: Glass surfaces may be cut, ground, and polished to achieve smooth edges and desired surface finishes.
  • Decorative Techniques: Various decorative techniques such as etching, engraving, or applying coatings may be used to enhance the appearance of the glass object.
