Zinc Alloy Casting

Zinc alloys are often used for jewelry casting due to their low cost, durability, corrosion resistance, and versatility.
How are zinc alloys made into jewelry?

1. Jewelry Cad

Jewelry CAD is specialized CAD software used for jewelry design and manufacturing. Once we have finished the hand-drawn or 2D sketches and confirmed the style, we need to create a 3D rendering. This allows us to showcase the product details comprehensively and also prepares it for carving.

2. CNC Carving

CNC (Computer Numerical Control) machining plays a crucial role in the process of creating mould. By inputting the completed CAD drawings into the program and engraving, it can produce an original mould.

3.Manual Mold Modification

While CNC machines can produce complex designs, the products they carve lack a natural feel. They require manual refinement by skilled mold modification artisans to achieve a natural look. Through meticulous carving by experienced artisans, a perfect original die can be achieved

4.Rubber Mould

There is only one mould. When making a small number of samples, we only need to create a rubber mold once. By rotating it multiple times, we can produce a small quantity of zinc alloy pieces. The rubber mold also serves as a tool for producing large quantities of goods, replicating identical products in bulk.

5 Spin Casting

Spin casting uses centrifugal force to inject molten zinc alloy into molds. The molds have a small hole in the center where the molten metal is poured. As the mold spins on the casting machine, the metal is forced into the hollow spaces, feeding through gateways that facilitate smooth flow. After the metal cools, the casting is removed from the mold.

6 Washing/Polishing

Since most rubber molds consist of two parts that come together to form a mold, zinc alloy liquid can seep into the seams where the parts join, creating seam lines. To ensure the product's aesthetic appeal, these seam lines are removed using washing or polishing methods, ensuring the product surface is sufficiently smooth.
